Martha Café and Catering is a social enterprise dedicated to offering pathways to employment for vulnerable individuals, servicing the Newcastle area.
Located in the Southern Cross Hall building next to Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newcastle West, we take pride in providing high-quality service and catering for all types of events, both small or large.
Our facilities include two halls connected to the café. One hall comfortably accommodates up to 100 people, while the other hosts up to 500 guests. Our café can also be hired for gatherings of up to 30 people for smaller events.
Martha Café and Catering is a small team led by local chef John Du’bery, who draws on over 28 years of hospitality experience spanning the globe.
Apart from being passionate about creating good food, John is dedicated to making a difference in our community. He loves how sharing his knowledge and expertise in the kitchen supports our trainees to learn and develop – successful head chefs of the future!

Our catering delivers creative food options using quality, nutritious, and seasonal produce while working to your budget. Our food is made fresh, and we offer a wide range of gluten-free and vegetarian options on our menus. Martha has various food packages available to suit your needs.
